Each month, Cayse Llorens of Invest Detroit Ventures and a special guest will present on topics crucial to startups. In addition we will be hosting a local entrepreneur to lead us through their company's success in relation to our monthly topic.

- Markets: What markets do you want to pursue?
- Customers: Who are you selling to? Who is your target customer?
- Channels: Where do your target customers buy? Where will you promote your products?
- Product (or Offering): What product/service are you selling? And what unique value do you offer to each target customer group?
- Price: How much will you charge for your products for each customer group?
- Positioning: What is your unique value or primary differentiation? How will you connect to what matters to your target customers and position your brand?

Fares is the Co-Founder and CEO of MySwimPro, a technology company that creates mobile and wearable apps to help swimmers improve their performance and health. MySwimPro is the #1 fitness application for swimmers in 150+ countries and was named by Apple as the best Apple Watch App of 2016.
Before launching MySwimPro, Fares led digital marketing at two venture-backed startups developing brand strategy and sharable content. His analytic approach to driving growth and creative insight for engaging audiences has been attributed to the success of numerous early-stage companies.
Fares has been recognized as an emerging leader in the sport of swimming and has served as a Fellow for the American Swim Coaches Association. He also a board member with multiple organizations, keynote speaker, and startup mentor. Fares has been recognized by Arab America as one of 15 Arab Americans who stole the spotlight in 2017.
Jim Tenzillo is a Chicago native who joined Invest Michigan in April 2016. His responsibilities include sourcing and leading new investments; serving as a board observer to portfolio companies on behalf of the fund; and managing Invest Michigan’s portfolio clients. He has led 24 investments into 20 different companies in two years.
Prior to Invest Michigan, Jim spent over five years in corporate finance before transitioning to the entrepreneurial world, where he consulted with a number of start-ups and served as VP of Marketing and Operations for a Chicago-based finance start-up.
Jim has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelors of Science in Finance with Honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Cayse Llorens joined Invest Detroit Ventures as Senior Associate in January 2018 and focuses on all facets of investing in great entrepreneurs across a number of industries in the state of Michigan. He also actively supports IDV's portfolio companies.
Cayse has prior investment experience at Hyde Park Venture Partners and OCA Ventures in Chicago. He comes from a strong technology background in software engineering and consulting, and has founded several tech companies. The most recent was CelebTango, a live celebrity video chat platform featured in the first group of companies admitted to 1871, the country's largest center for technology and entrepreneurship. He is also the founder of the Chicago Machine Learning Venture Capital Summit, the largest VC summit in Chicago.
